Hello Again

As you can tell, have decided to write again. 

Not that I ever really stopped. Kept up the journal and all that. So I guess what I'm doing is writing publicly. Again. After a break of three or so years. During which a lot happened. Some of which I hope to unpack on here eventually. It's gonna take a while to hit my stride, but I'm up for the fight.

it's occurred to me
that you like the fact that i'm in love with you
like it so much that despite not liking me
you feed this love
you keep me on a leash
never letting me wander too far
never giving me the chance to get over you
you keep me leashed with your calls
the ones that leave me with chesire cat grins
the lunch dates, the movie nights, the inside jokes
little morsels you toss my way
when you feel the glow of my affection dimming
you give the leash a little tug
suggest a road trip out of town
get me all googly eyed and out of my head
rinse and repeat
i hate it
i can't help it
it's exhausting
gonna snip the leash
